An innovative approach to Arabic dance combining a physical workout with a holistic approach to improving body awareness and energy work.
In a year, you’ll explore relaxed traditional Egyptian dances such as Saidi and Baladi, the beauty of Raqs Sharqi (translated meaning dance of the east), the powerful presence of contemporary Bellydance plus the grace and elegance of classical Arabic dance.
Strong rhythms and beautiful melodies, both old and modern, will help you relax and escape into a world of dance at the same time as developing strength, flexibility and poise.
Jane’s experience in teaching enables all abilities to enjoy and get the most from these sessions, based on a unique method of teaching backed up with free online tutorials. And if you like it, you can consider joining the Mazazik Community Performance Group.
On the few occasions that Jane is working away, classes will be taken by Heather Honeyman (Mazazik facitilator).
Beginners are requested to complete a short introductory internet course before joining the class at Yorkshire Dance. It is available to purchase from Jane’s website Or on Tuesday 25 February there will be a chance to pay and attend for one class to give it a go.
