The end of November saw the Talent Hub premiere of HELM at Dance City, marking the start of a 7 date national tour. Talent Hub, a partnership with Yorkshire Dance, Tin Arts and Inclusion North, has been gaining momentum over the past 18 months, supporting and developing 10 dance artists with a learning disability or autism to develop their careers in dance.

During 3 residencies, the exceptional group of emerging artists worked with critically acclaimed choreographer, Theo Clinkard and artistic collaborator Leah Majokovic, to craft a performance piece that delves into the imagination and desires of the dancers. Framed around 8 solos, the piece explores the alter egos of the cast, through a kaleidoscope of lights, costume, sound and movement.

The piece was received at Dance City, Newcastle, with a standing ovation.

beautiful and life-affirming for me, doing what great art does, making you aware of the possibilities of life in some profound way, that you feel through your senses rather than intellectually. That is rare but so thrilling.” Audience feedback.

The company will be performing in February, June and July 2020 at various venues across Yorkshire, the North East and London. Find out more about the tour here.
