Introducing our new Projects Manager Adie Nivison
Wed 7 February 2018Yorkshire Dance is delighted to welcome Adie Nivison as our new Projects Manager (Older People).
Following the spectacular growth of our work developing and supporting dance with older people, we have appointed a new Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a number of strategic programmes and broaden our relationships and opportunities in this area.
Adie has previously worked with Age UK and a range of health professionals and voluntary groups delivering programmes at the heart of older people’s services in Leeds. In addition to this, Adie brings a wealth of creative experience, having worked with West Yorkshire Playhouse on their Heydays programme, helping to deliver creative sessions to hundreds of older people each week, and promoting Dementia Friendly theatre performances.
This exciting new role will enable Yorkshire Dance to extend our existing programmes in Leeds which have successfully addressed falls prevention, and develop a number of new programmes which aim to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing, through dance.
Adie says, “From my previous roles, I understand the challenges of increasing frailty and the impact of long term health conditions on older people, and I have seen the transformative value of participation and engagement in creative arts. I am very excited to join an organisation that shares this understanding and I’m looking forward to enabling more communities to rediscover the positive impact of dance.”
