Looking back on FRESH 2022
Wed 1 June 2022Part of: FRESH 2025

On the 1 and 2 April, dancers from youth groups, schools and colleges across Yorkshire took to the stage as part of FRESH 2022. More than 300 young people shared their work online and with sell-out audiences at Leeds City College. For some of these dancers, this was the first time they had been able to perform live for over 2 years.
“We came away from FRESH feeling upbeat and inspired, and so pleased to have been a part of the day.”
Throughout the day, youth dance groups took part in rehearsals on a professional stage, learnt a finale dance and enjoyed workshops in styles ranging from Voguing, Hip Hop and Contemporary. Ione Barton, Youth & Community Manager explains: ‘FRESH is a great opportunity to meet other young dancers and be inspired by the wide range of dance styles showcased. This year we were blown away by the talent and professionalism of the young people’.
“The whole day was amazing! The vogue workshop was so good and I had a lot of fun”
