Yorkshire Dance is proud to announce that Raised has been successful in its Grants for the Arts. This G4A sees the company further develop its current piece You, Me and Us and will include the collaborative creation of a new piece, and fund performances in Yorkshire and the wider Northern region.

Working alongside guest artists Gary Clarke, David Toole and Rachel Liggitt, the company performaned at events such as The Beyond Festival, Freedom Moving and Expressions in 2016.

“2016 saw Raised take a massive leap forward, determined in our quest to challenge preconceptions, champion integrated practice and above all create engaging and memorable performance work. One of our audience members told us: “I was thoroughly moved, almost to tears, by the performance. I tried to come and see the company perform again at Expressions but couldn’t get a ticket!” We hope to see you at one of our upcoming performances, make sure you book early!” Ceri Brierley, Project Manager

Raised aims to raise standards in integrated practice, encourage a diverse dance sector and inspire awareness and debate about disability. This new project will contribute to achieving these aims by developing new work, partnerships and appropriate support systems.

Yorkshire Dance is very pleased to be supporting this company in its development and in ensuring that integrated dance continues to be represented in Leeds, and enable Raised to champion integrated practice.
