In the New Year we will be relaunching our Youth Dance Company for young people from East Leeds and we really need your support to reach our final fundraising target.

Almost all professional dance artists start out in youth dance. So it’s vitally important that free dance opportunities exist for young people who cannot afford to pay for dance classes. We are therefore committed to keeping our Youth Company free and working with young people who would not otherwise have access to dance.

Yorkshire Dance Youth offers opportunities to learn technique, choreograph work, perform live and even teach younger members.

Last year our long-term funding for the Youth Company came to an end and we were forced to take the heart breaking decision to close the group. Thanks to funding from Wades Charity and Hays Travel Foundation we are starting up weekly sessions again in January 2020 in Kentmere Community Centre in Seacroft. It costs £12,000 per year to run the Company and with over £9,000 raised we can almost commit to running weekly sessions for a full year!

We’d love your help to raise the final £3,000 to get the company back up and running. Any donation you can give, large or small, will make a massive difference to the young dancers of Seacroft and the surrounding area.
