In June 2019, we appointed Alan Dawson as our new Site Supervisor.

Alan has worked as a Lighting Designer and Technical Manager in contemporary dance since 2006. He has worked for many dance companies and on projects based in the U.K and Europe, and was fortunate enough to tour both nationally and internationally for over a decade. Since 2014, he has mainly worked with James Wilton Dance. Alan is now wanting to spend more time in Leeds but still make use of the practical skills he acquired in theatre.

Facilities Manager, Lauren, is absolutely thrilled that Alan has joined the team: “Alan has so many useful skills to help us keep the Yorkshire Dance building running as it should. It’s wonderful knowing that, with so much experience behind him, we are in safe hands!”

Alan says: “I’m enjoying the challenges and problem solving involved as Site Supervisor at Yorkshire Dance. The part time hours are also allowing me to spend more time on my interests, including organic vegetable growing and studying traditional folk music and dance!”
