Yorkshire Dance welcomes Shamima and JuliaWed 24 April 2019
Recently, we said a very fond farewell to our Marketing & Communications Manager and Marketing & Communications Officer, Antony Dunn and April Skipp, respectively. Antony left the organisation after an amazing 11 years to join Split (who are based in the York Street Studios here at Yorkshire Dance) as the new Studio Manager. April left after three wonderful years at Yorkshire Dance to join York Mediale as their Communications Manager. We would like to wish them the best of luck in their new roles.
Though sad to see Antony and April go, we are delighted to welcome two new additions to our Marketing team here at Yorkshire Dance. Shamima Noor and Julia White join the organisation as Marketing & Communications Officer and Marketing & Communications Manager respectively. They join Christina (T) Peacock, our existing Marketing Assistant.
Shamima joins the organisation from Leeds Playhouse, where she previously worked as a Marketing and Communications Assistant, following her undergraduate degree in English, and MA degree in Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies from University of Leeds. She is an alumni of Creative Access, an AMA (Arts Marketing Association) regional member rep, and is passionate about reaching new audiences and increasing diversity in the arts.
Julia is a marketing and communications manager based in the North of England, working across Theatre, Live Art and Performance Festivals. In addition to her full time positions, most recently at Forced Entertainment and now at Yorkshire Dance, she has worked on a number of freelance projects that facilitate the work of emerging artists and performance practitioners in the region and has played an important role in the development of under-represented audiences.
