Call for contributors: Dancing to a sustainable future (Autumn 2020/Spring 2021)
Dancing to a sustainable future (Autumn 2020/Spring 2021)
Yorkshire Dance is in the early stages of researching how dance and choreography relate to the climate emergency and want to reach out to artists who are interested in a conversation.
We would like to hear from artists who could contribute to a programme exploring this topic through the moving body and choreography. We are interested in finding out about research, performance, film and installation work that responds to this theme.
How does dance help us to move forward, digest science, find solutions, shape hope within this complex problem and/or provides us with new experiences, encounters and insight?
How, as dance makers, do we understand the value of our unique offer in the face of this issue?
The response to this call out will help shape events which are likely to take place in the autumn of 2020 and or spring 2021. This might take the shape of an Encounters programme or alternative forms.
If you are interested in a conversation please contact us no later than Thursday 27 February 2020 by telling us about the work you are developing in an email or by video and send this to email@example.com. Please send video content via We Transfer.
We are particularly keen to receive responses from artists from a diverse and inclusive range of backgrounds and experiences.
