Dance Transports: Early Years
- Friday 13 March 2020
- Yorkshire Dance, Leeds
- 10.00am – 4.30pm
Led by professional Dance Artist, Skye Reynolds, Early Years Specialist working with Little Big Dance – the pioneering national programme creating a new blueprint for early years dance – this one day workshop is aimed at anyone interested in delivering movement and developing performance for and with under five year olds.
The workshop will introduce and explore children’s developmental movement patterns to inspire and underpin creative experiences which support mind body development. We will explore how children learn, including age-appropriate movement experiences and child-led play. We will consider appropriate touch.
The workshop will include time for participants to develop and integrate their creative responses as well as group discussion and in parallel with the aims of Little Big Dance we will also consider how to choreograph with and for children under the age of 5.
Those attending will leave with increased confidence in delivering creative movement activities and dance and an enhanced toolbox of movement activities for use in Early Years settings.
Workshop content is devised in collaboration with Hannah LeFeuvre, Skye’s colleague and Early Years Specialist with Little Big Dance.
