Call for proposals: No Dress Code, Scratch Night
No Dress Code is our informal scratch night which offers artists the opportunity to showcase works in progress* and receive feedback from an audience in a relaxed environment.
*By ‘works in progress’ we mean new work which has already undertaken research and development and is being structured into a performance.
The evening aims to bring together independent choreographers and dance companies from across Yorkshire to showcase their work in a supportive environment offering audience the opportunity to ask and answer questions about the work.
We are looking for:
• Short new pieces of work, which have had little or no previous audience exposure
• Excerpts from a longer work-in-progress performance
• Work in progress that has had at least two weeks development in a studio
Proposals should be for pieces that are:
• Between 5 – 15 minutes in duration
• Technically simple and adaptable to quick turnarounds
• Self-supporting in terms of props/set/equipment
Yorkshire Dance will provide each company with a fee of £50 for taking part in No Dress Code.
