with Helen Baggett
Associate Director, Gecko
Join Gecko to explore ideas and techniques for engaging young people in dance and physical theatre. Aimed at facilitators currently working with young people, this workshop will introduce Gecko’s devising techniques, methods for creating movement and approaches to preparing a group or class for work.
As well as giving you the chance to experience Gecko’s unique style of movement and physical theatre, the sessions will include preparation exercises, group discussions, tasks and techniques, elements of which you can use in your own practice.
Gecko workshops are highly physical and dynamic, so wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing (no shoes, jewellery or trainers).
Gecko is an award-winning and internationally-acclaimed physical theatre company, led by Artistic Director Amit Lahav.
With an expanding ensemble of international performers and makers, Gecko creates work through collaboration, experimentation and play. Its work is global.
Helen Baggett develops and leads many of the company’s residencies, workshops and community projects. A founder member of CandoCo Dance Company, she has led many workshops and training days in facilitation, physical theatre and inclusive practice.
