Workshop with Núria Guiu
Join Barcelona-based artist and teacher Núria Guiu for a practical workshop using meditation and yoga practice as a basis for dance.
Núria’s practice is often inspired by the intersection between yoga, dance, meditation and anthropologic perspectives of the body – her latest work Likes analyses the phenomena of cover dance tutorials and Yoga technique videos in the digital age.
Exploring the body in relation to inner and outer space, the session encourages artists from across all disciplines to delve into both private, personal and collective experiences of the world. The workshop uses the body as an engine to generate movement, from subtle and invisible sensations to extreme expressions.
Open to professionals and non-professionals across a wide range of art disciplines.
Núria Guiu has worked with Batsheva Dance Company, Jasmin Vardimon, Cullberg Ballet, Gisele Vienne and Carte Blanche Dance Company among others.
