Lifted is a collection of funny, poetic and surprising moments, which explore in different ways what it means when one body is carried by another. Or when one person carries two people. Or when a person doesn’t want to be carried. Or when three people find the perfect balance.

Teaming up with three guest choreographers – Yi-Chun Liu from Peeping Tom, HURyCAN and Gary Clarke – this captivating performance experiments with new approaches to Mimbre’s trademark acrobatics. Lifted mixes dance, theatre and circus to celebrate the expressions and impressions that appear when three strong women move, lift and balance each other.

The show is performed by Jaide Annalise, Silvia Fratelli and Freya Stokka. The show was devised by Jaide Annalise, Silvia Fratelli, Rosy Roberts and Freya Stokka Lifted understudies are Lucie Maisha; Duhirahe, Martha Harrison and Tamzen Moulding Lifted is supported by Without Walls and Arts Council England, and commissioned by Stockton International Riverside Festival.

Mimbre

Mimbre is an international circus, street theatre and performance company producing innovative and extraordinary performances that intrigue and delight. The company can often be seen in unconventional and unexpected settings, stirring emotional connections with a wide range of audiences through their unique blend of breath-taking acrobatic skills, dance, visual poetry and imaginative narratives.

Yorkshire Dance was commissioned by the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority to provide a programme of dance for the up-coming UEFA Women’s Euros Fan Zone which takes place in Rotherham throughout July 2022.
