Live Bites is a vibrant evening of dance by selected artists from across the North.
Featuring Muse by Alice Henry (Dance City), Untitled (belum) & Untitled (labyrinth) by Claricia Kruithof (Dance Base), Deep Sea – Part 1 by Tora Hed and Performance with Hope by Grace Surman (Yorkshire Dance).
Northern Platforms is delivered in partnership with several other key dance organisations in the North of the UK.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Kapow will no longer be performing on Friday evening.
Muse is a physical exploration of the elite athlete’s physical and mental capacity, Alice’s admiration for, relationship to, and the unattainable pursuit of the superhuman. Alice addresses themes of strength, power and peak performance, expectation, pressure, confidence yet also weakness, vulnerability and fragility through a series of sound sketches.
Here we are in a space together – Grace is raising a woman in front of you. She’s trying her best. Do you recognize something in her?
“ This tender piece will have parents laughing and crying with recognition.” The Skinny, Edinburgh Festival review
Untitled (belum) and Untitled (labyrinth) are part of a series of short solo works developed under ongoing research project the sky was pink; an evolving movement score drawn from, and in dialogue with imagery, text, music and sound.Back to all eventsBack to Friday Firsts
