Choreographers Suba Subramaniam and Sivan Rubinstein have extensive experience in working with scientists and within academia exploring issues related to the climate emergency from different disciplines, such as philosophy and geography. Join them this morning for this informal chat where they reflect how science and choreography influence each other and spark new thinking and practices and how this is impacting on audiences.
Suba’s choreography navigates the confluence of arts and science drawing from her belief that dance, can play a part in the public understanding and engagement with scientific concepts. Her work combines contemporary choreography and Bharata Natyam. She is also the Artistic Director of Akademi and Sadhana Dance. Find out more.
Sivan Rubinstein’s art uncovers contemporary cultural issues which facilitate creative public conversations. Her work is deeply rooted in collaboration with academics, artists, communities and methods of alternative learning. Find out more.
