Company of People Workshop | 9.30-11.00am

Join Company of People, an intergenerational community performance company from Leeds and critically acclaimed artist TC Howard for this practical dance workshop, which invites you to take part in playful games and movement tasks.

Company of People’s work is rooted in the beautiful, poignant, funny experiences, stories and memories of their members. In this workshop you will meet some of the members of Company of People and experience the joy, love, creativity, and connection for yourself.

Company of People have performed their two works, In Your Shoes and Epic Everyday at Leeds Playhouse and internationally.

Open to ages 11 years to 101. Company of People members are currently 12-85.

About our Workshops

This is a practical session inviting you to move. No previous dance experience is necessary and everyone is welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes, trainers or bare feet. Bring a bottle of water.

Our building is fully accessible, baby changing, a quiet space and room to leave prams are available during the festival. Chest feeding is welcome throughout the venue. Full access information for Yorkshire Dance is available here.

About Pay As You Feel

At Yorkshire Dance, we’re committed to making our work affordable for everyone so all our events are Pay As You Feel. When booking you can either click on one of the suggested amounts or you can enter your own amount. If you cannot afford to pay anything you are very welcome to attend simply enter £0 as you checkout.

Once you have booked your ticket your name is added to our register. Just head to the welcome desk at Yorkshire Dance at least 10 minutes before your event to sign in.

About Encounters Children & Their Grown Ups

This is a pay as you feel event as part of Encounters Children & Their Grown Ups. Taking place at Yorkshire Dance, this one-day festival invites us to explore the imaginations and playfulness in all of us.
