The Smalls by Izzy Brittain | 1.00-2.00pm
The Smalls is a fun, fascinating interactive dance experience exploring the magical microworld of soil animals with small people and their grown-ups.
Many soil animals are tinier than termites and weeny-er than worms, yet the future of our food depends on them. Calling all soil supporters, creature campaigners, dirt defenders! The time has now come to look down, deeper and defend The Smalls.
Join us for a joyful, playful celebration of The Smalls, as we wriggle together through the untold story of their ecosystem.
All ages welcome. Aimed at ages 0-8
Please note: The Smalls is in the early stages of development. Children and family audiences are invited to become part of its creation. This is just the beginning of the journey!
Age suitability
An age range is provided for guidance only. We welcome family audiences of all ages. If you have any queries or concerns about age suitability please give us a ring before booking on 0113 243 8765.
Find us and access
Yorkshire Dance is opposite BBC Yorkshire and Leeds Conservatoire. There is step free access throughout the building and wheelchair spaces are available. Our building contains baby changing, free drinking water and a rest space. A room to leave prams is available throughout the festival. Chest or breast feeding is welcome throughout the venue. Full access information for Yorkshire Dance is available here.
Yorkshire Dance aims to be an accessible and inclusive place for all. We create a ‘braver space’, where you feel able to express yourself in a supportive and empowering way. You will be welcomed and treated with respect by Yorkshire Dance staff and we expect and encourage everyone at Encounters to do the same. Learn more about our Braver Spaces Policy here.
Please note the audience will be seated on floor cushions for this interactive performance but chairs are available for those who prefer.
