We warmly welcome you to join us for a gathering of local artists. 

Curated by our Artist Development team, our Annual Artist Gathering is an opportunity for independent artists to come together to meet, dance, discuss and get inspired. We welcome artists from across Yorkshire – whether you’re a student, dance maker, musician, community practitioner, performer, producer or an artist looking to connect to the dance community. 

The evening starts with Open Practice facilitated by Lewys Holt followed by conversation and a chance to learn about upcoming opportunities at Yorkshire Dance over some hot food.   

This is a free event, booking will open in the autumn.

Timetable

5pm: Open Practice with Lewys Holt in Studio 1 

With a playlist curated by Lewys Holt we invite you to indulge in exploring and developing your own movement alongside fellow artists. Your own little island in a room full of islands.

6pm onwards: Food and Conversation 

Gather around hot food to share your current ambitions, challenges and consider what’s next for independent artists in our region. Hear from local freelance artists about how they are collaborating with Yorkshire Dance and learn more about our upcoming opportunities for artists. 

Finally an informal networking session will offer the chance to connect and chat to the Yorkshire Dance team. 

Find us and access

Yorkshire Dance is opposite BBC Yorkshire and Leeds Conservatoire. There is step free access throughout the building and wheelchair spaces are available. Full access information for Yorkshire Dance is available here.
