About Community Roller Dance by The Skate Scholarship 

Roller Dance is a type of roller skating that has been around for decades. Community Roller Dance Sessions are a friendly, no-pressure space to learn the art of roller dance together. We cater for beginners and more advanced skaters.

We will learn classic steps from Downtown variations, Zero, Strut Walk, Dips, to learning routines as a group. We vary between learning skate skills for roller dance, routines and dances.

We will alternate between structured Taught Lesson and a Skill Share Session. Skill Shares will break up the term and gives you a space to practice what you’ve learned with casual coaching available. This is a perfect placed for beginner and advanced skaters to connect.

Community Roller Dance is open ability, but it is NOT a learn to skate class. You must be able to stand up on skates, roll forward, backwards and stop safely.

What to Wear

You need to have your own roller skates for this class, they must be fitted with jam plugs and toe stops. No skate hire available.

Wear comfortable clothing, no flaring trousers that can caught into roller skate wheels.

Taught classes cost £9.00 and skills share classes cost £7.00 per session. A class pass is £80 ( this includes all lessons and skill shares).

Changing rooms are available on the first floor. Our building has step free access and lifts to all floors. Full access information is available here.
