Fernanda Prata

Fernanda Prata is an Arts Leader, Curator, Artist Development Mentor and Performance Practitioner with over twenty years of experience across dance, theatre, interdisciplinary arts and higher education.
She is a Curriculum Leader for MA programmes and a Lecturer at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where her work spans programme leadership, artist development, teaching and interdisciplinary performance practice. Throughout her career, Fernanda has worked internationally as a performer, choreographer, educator and creative leader, collaborating with organisations including Punchdrunk International, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Protein Dance, Vincent Dance Theatre, the National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe and Leeds Art Gallery.
Her curatorial and artistic interests centre on interdisciplinary practice, embodied knowledge, and the creation of meaningful connections among artists, audiences, and communities. She is currently completing fully funded doctoral research at De Montfort University, exploring Brazilian cultural anthropophagy as a framework for embodied knowledge, presence, and creative agency in contemporary performance.
