Jennifer Hall

Headshot Board Jennifer Hall

Jen is a social scientist and public health researcher at Born in Bradford, Bradford Institute for Health research. She co-leads the Bradford Centre for Qualitative Research, supporting pioneering qualitative health research in Bradford and beyond. Jen’s primary research interests relate to physical activity, arts and culture, health inequalities and wellbeing. She recognises the diverse health and wellbeing benefits that physical activity, arts and culture can bring, whilst acknowledging inequities in access. Jen takes a research-practice approach to her work to facilitate impact and support reductions in equities in access to health-giving activities. Current projects include:

  • Embedded evaluation for JU:MP, a whole-systems approach to increasing physical activity amongst children and families
  • Evaluating the implementation and impact of the ‘Create and Dance’ programme in Bradford Primary Schools
  • Leaders Like Us: co-developing a framework to support young women from underserved groups into physical activity leadership
