FRESH 2018 | A jam-packed day of outstanding talent
Fri 13 April 2018Part of: FRESH 2025

On Saturday 24 March, over 350 young people from across Yorkshire came together in York for FRESH 2018.
20 groups performed across two stages, bringing outstanding talent and energy. The fringe show took place in the picturesque ballroom of the De Grey Rooms and the evening performance was showcased at York Theatre Royal.
Throughout the day the groups took part in a range of workshops, experiencing new styles of dance from house & afro fusion with Uchenna Dance to stomp with Adele Thompson and Lindy hop with Jon Beney.
Every year without fail aspiring choreographers and dancers from across Yorkshire raise the roof with the finale and this year was no exception. Huge thank you to Tanya Richam-Odoi and Rachel Clarke for choreographing the show’s finale.
“The standard of dance is outstanding, but what’s made today really special is the overwhelming support and enthusiasm that all the young people have given each other.” Claire Clarke
Hempland primary school were our first guest primary school to perform at FRESH, they also worked hard to achieve their discover level Arts Award all in one day.
Keep an eye on our social media, as we’ll soon be announcing the group selected to represent Yorkshire at U.Dance 2018 in Ipswich this summer.
