“The opportunity to take on the role of Creative Director for Yorkshire Dance is a privilege. Having worked in the organisation for nearly a decade in the role of Programmes Director and more recently, Interim CEO and Artistic Director, I have been given a strong foundation from which to lead the organisation into its next phase.

I share a deep commitment to Yorkshire Dance’s values of creativity, curiosity, joyfulness, inclusion and care. Having worked in many roles over the last 22 years, including as a freelance dance artist, youth dance artist, community dance artist, project coordinator, producer and director, I’ve acquired a thorough insight into many aspects of the sector. I believe this enables me to bring great empathy and a strong commitment to supporting others through what I know to be a challenging time for the dance sector.

I am excited to embrace a co-Directorship model at Yorkshire Dance and to work collaboratively to ensure the future of the organisation. Yorkshire Dance is a special place with a strong ethos and an unshakeable commitment to supporting artists, creating opportunities for communities, bringing people together and supporting the dance ecology in Leeds and Yorkshire to flourish.
