Hannah Robertshaw Embraces Co-Director Leadership at Yorkshire DanceThu 2 March 2023
Hannah Robertshaw will be moving from her role as Interim CEO and Artistic Director, following the departure of Wieke Eringa in 2022. Hannah will progress to Creative Director and will work collaboratively with the Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships.
She had this to say about the appointment:
“The opportunity to take on the role of Creative Director for Yorkshire Dance is a privilege. Having worked in the organisation for nearly a decade in the role of Programmes Director and more recently, Interim CEO and Artistic Director, I have been given a strong foundation from which to lead the organisation into its next phase.
I share a deep commitment to Yorkshire Dance’s values of creativity, curiosity, joyfulness, inclusion and care. Having worked in many roles over the last 22 years, including as a freelance dance artist, youth dance artist, community dance artist, project coordinator, producer and director, I’ve acquired a thorough insight into many aspects of the sector. I believe this enables me to bring great empathy and a strong commitment to supporting others through what I know to be a challenging time for the dance sector.
I am excited to embrace a co-Directorship model at Yorkshire Dance and to work collaboratively to ensure the future of the organisation. Yorkshire Dance is a special place with a strong ethos and an unshakeable commitment to supporting artists, creating opportunities for communities, bringing people together and supporting the dance ecology in Leeds and Yorkshire to flourish. I am honoured to play a part in this continued mission and look forward to continuing to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
