Chris attends our weekly Leaps & Bounds dance sessions for adults with a learning disability.

Chris has a serious heart condition which flared up last year leaving him in hospital and unable to dance. He returned to Leaps & Bounds earlier this year. Initially he struggled with breathlessness leaving him unable to speak but his passion for dance and his determination to keep active has led to a remarkable recovery as dance artist Ellen Turner explains:

“The change in Chris from last term to this term is completely unrecognisable. Chris is healthier and fitter and I am so proud that Leaps & Bounds has helped him get his life back”

In July Chris performed up front at Northern Ballet’s Expressions. Ellen explains:

“Chris performs with such energy and enthusiasm. At the recent Expressions performance Chris was at the front of the group as he is such a confident performer who is inspiration to a lot of the other participants.”

Chris explains what Leaps & Bounds means for him:

“I have a heart condition but that’s no stopping me. Every week we come here and we give 1000%.
