Welcome to three new board members
Wed 22 January 2020Following an open recruitment process last year, we are excited to welcome three excellent new Trustees to the Yorkshire Dance Board. It can be painful to say goodbye to much-loved Trustees, especially when they have served their full term and become real friends. On the upside, it allows the organisation to connect with brilliant new people.
For the first time we wanted to work with someone who is a beneficiary of arts activity with older adults and who can bring their life-expertise to the strategic development of our work. We were delighted Teresa Domene will take up this role. Teresa is a retired school teacher whose adventurous spirit has seen her travel and live in many different countries. She currently works for a number of venues in Leeds, takes part in theatre and dance projects and is an active participant in the ‘Young at Arts’ steering group which helped Yorkshire Dance recruit dance artists last year.
Legal expertise will be brought to us by Rashmi Dube, founder and Managing Director of Legatus Law Ltd and weekly columnist for the Yorkshire Post. Rashmi’s back-ground in corporate law and litigation will provide us with a critical sounding board and she brings an extensive network across the city of Leeds, particularly in the corporate world.
Also of critical importance is a strategic approach to fundraising and development for which we will be joined by the hugely experienced Margaret Hudson. Margaret is a newcomer to Leeds from Australia, having only moved here last year to take up the role as Corporate Relations Manager at Leeds University. Margaret has an extensive career in development in an HE context and we can’t wait to work with her to develop our fundraising aspirations.
