Success for The Big Give Christmas Challenge

At the end of last year, Yorkshire Dance took part in The Big Give, a fundraising appeal with the target of raising £4000 in one week, which will go towards supporting programmes such as Saturday Superstars,  providing affordable and fun dance classes for young people across Leeds. In order to raise these funds, our team took part in a series of challenges – including our Executive Director Bhuvan taking on the challenge of 100 seconds of Bollywood hooksteps!

Thanks to you, our fantastic supporters, we have raised a whopping £5,302 for our Dance to Health & Happiness Project in 2022, with funds going to:

  • 6 free places on our Saturday Superstars dance programme to support young people from low income families affected by the pandemic.
  • 2 new creative performance projects giving all our participants an opportunity to reconnect, get creative and have fun (we all need a little more fun in our lives!)

Our Saturday Superstars offer a range of activities, from classes with Parents & Tots to our Street Crew, there is something for everyone. This term, we are also very excited to be welcoming back our Ballet 2-4 classes, for the first time since lockdown. There are still spaces available for the Spring Term, which will run until the 26th of March – check out our website for more information.

We cannot thank you enough for your incredible support, and we are so excited to see these programmes continue to blossom in 2022.
