Yorkshire Dance recently completed an independent Finance Review. The trustees and the Co-Directors took this step to ensure Yorkshire Dance is well equipped to successfully manage the financial challenges being felt by many across the cultural sector and the wider economy.

To ensure Yorkshire Dance can protect the jobs, which are instrumental in delivering our vital, impactful work with independent artists, older adults, children and young people and people with a learning disability, we now need to make some difficult decisions to reduce our operating costs.

From Spring 2024 Yorkshire Dance will retain a joint leadership model with Hannah Robertshaw, Creative Director, joined by a new permanent Executive Director as fellow Co-Director. Current Co-Director Jon Singleton will remain in post as Director of Strategic Development & Partnerships until then to ensure a smooth transition, working alongside our Interim Executive Director Louise Allen.

Louise joined Yorkshire Dance in October 2023, reporting into the Co-Directors to support the transitional phase Yorkshire Dance are currently undertaking.

Yorkshire Dance would like to thank Jon Singleton for all the fantastic work he has done whilst at Yorkshire Dance including instigating the Finance Review and his subsequent work with Hannah Robertshaw to develop a more sustainable model for the future, which ensures we can continue to deliver our ambitions.
