Do you remember when the Sony Walkman happened? Mini, battery-operated cassette players with headphones, which meant you could walk the streets with music playing in your ears. It felt like being in a movie with a soundtrack of your own choosing. Now, it’s no longer a novelty, yet there’s something still a little magical about hearing music up close and in your head.  

Don your headphones for Susan Kempster’s “On the usefulness or futility of looking backwards” an immersive performance event, where spectators become performers, where everyone is in their own private, yet shared, movie.

Yorkshire Dance is opposite BBC Yorkshire and Leeds Conservatoire. There is step free access throughout the building and wheelchair spaces are available. Full access information for Yorkshire Dance is available here.

At Yorkshire Dance, we’re committed to making our work affordable for everyone so all our events are Pay What You Can. By donating £12.00 you are contributing to future festivals and ensuring everyone in our community can access a ticket they can afford. If you cannot afford £12.00 you are welcome to enter your own amount or simply enter £0 as you checkout.

Once you have booked your ticket your name is added to our register. Just head to the welcome desk at Yorkshire Dance at least 10 minutes before your event to sign in.
