In May, Dance On hosted our first ever Social Committee meeting.  Representatives from the Beeston, Greengates, Gateway, Harehills and Dance On Up sessions as well as our Dance On Ambassador – Teresa Domene – met with the Dance On Team to share ideas and feedback over a delicious lunch.

The committee shared how they particularly enjoy the enthusiasm of the dance artists, the variety of dance styles and music, the care that participants have for one another and the further socialising that the groups do such as going for coffees, walks and trips to the theatre.

It was wonderful to hear about participant motivations for joining Dance On which included to manage health conditions, having more spare time in retirement, to make new friends and a lifelong love of dancing.

The committee also shared their ideas for encouraging new participants as well as what they would like to see at socials which we are excited to take on board in our future planning.
