The Cultural Recovery Fund brings new support for freelance artists

Yorkshire Dance is thrilled to announce that we have secured a Culture Recovery Fund grant to support local freelance artists.
This DCMS grant will provide a variety of opportunities for artists including four paid residencies. Nine paid workshops will provide space for artists to re-imagine dance in the post-COVID world. Funding will support artists on our Dance for Arts Sake programme to get their projects back on track following months of lockdowns.
The grant will also fund vital cleaning so we can safely re-open our studios to artists and our community.
Yorkshire Dance’s CEO & Artistic Director, Wieke Eringa explains
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this support, especially as it enables us to invest in independent artists who have had such a very tough year. This will also allow us to welcome everyone back to our studios to dance and have fun and to work, create and research”
After what has been an incredibly difficult year for freelancers, we are very excited about the opportunities that this grant brings to local artists.
